The office building consists of a central building flanked by 2 angled aisles, which together enclose a garden.
The side aisles consist of solid construction. The load-bearing walls are all incorporated in the facades; there are no load-bearing walls in the building. They are raised in the same masonry as the facades, but count a double brick to achieve sufficient load-bearing capacity. Both walls are caulked, allowing the interior and exterior finishes to continue. The floors consist of concrete ribs in plank formwork with thin predals in between, hidden from view by the climate ceiling.
The central nave consists of a steel structure with steel-concrete floors. Both facades are given rhythm by the column structure behind in solid steel. Upstairs, the load is lower, halving the number of columns. The roof consists of steel IPE600 beams cut into T-sections. The floor is a steel-concrete floor, which has the advantage of being lighter than a concrete floor but still meeting acoustic requirements due to its thickness.
The basement serves as storage for the archives. Here, maximum open space was created by using vaulting, which required a minimum of columns.
The canopy, which covers the entire central nave, is a fine steel structure that provides a graceful interplay of lines in the façade. The structure consists of steel L-shaped fins attached to the load-bearing steel structure of the building. Some fins continue into doubled steel columns that clasp the fin. The other fins extend to the underside of the wooden blinds, where they are attached to a horizontal profile. The wooden slats of the blinds in turn rest on small tabs welded to the steel fins. Intermediate stiffeners are still provided in function of buckling.
